On September 11, Omar Apollo brought his God Said No World Tour to the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh, NC.
The stage setup featured three large screen panels that formed an open box, and throughout the entire night had stunning projections that completely transformed the stage into something entirely different from the last.
When he came out, he was wearing this massive fur coat as he sang "Be Careful With Me." When he finished his first verse, he took off the coat, revealing his white, glittery outfit, making him glow on stage.
Omar's dedication to connect with his fans between songs, cracking jokes, telling stories, and making sure "everybody was having a good time." When he wasn't talking or singing, he was dancing--and wow, did he have moves!! Omar's dance moves left the audience screaming with excitement.
A personal favorite moment of the night was when Omar performed his song "En El Olvido," a song about love, heartbreak, and regret. This was a deeply intimate moment, a beautiful expression of his connection to his Mexican roots that resonated with the audience.
Omar's concert was an unforgettably beautiful experience. The cinematic lighting, projections, contemporary dancers, and his amazing vocals all combined to create one of the most theatrical concerts I have been to.
