Dude... I’m really about to shoot Photos of Posty. SHIT... No pressure! Let’s talk about some lifted F-150s, the lifted SMART CAR, a smashed Ford truck right around the corner. Whose is it? Post Malone's!
A perfect freakin day that I’ve been so anxious about for a while. Hearing it was a SOLD OUT show made it even more nerve wrecking. Looking at all the Folks gearing up for a beautiful show, we were ready to experience Post Malone's mixture of country and mixed genres of music. Opening up the show was Dan Spencer & Muscadine Bloodline. Both groups were super talented, Having a unique sound of country/country rock. But the curiosity couldn’t keep me from wondering how Posty was gonna execute his set.
Finally... Post Malone! As the band built up for “Wrong Ones” as we saw that big ol smile walking across the stage! I paused to sing along “I got FUCK YOU money!” Oh I was in the groove. Posty sang and danced his heart out with the band. This was an experience like no other. Musicwise this had been the most diverse sound I’ve heard in a while.
Following was “Finer Things” Then “Circles.” Then it was time to drop off gear and head back into the venue. Making my way back in, I reflected on How much Posty music had helped me through a separation years ago. I was ready to hear some of the deeper songs that personally got me through some very dark times.
“Stay,” “I Fall Apart,” and “Better Now.” All songs he wrote from the heart, dealing with a heartbreak. I’m sure a lot of us can relate. Posty shifted back into a version of himself, vulnerable and broken. Dedicating the song to people who have or are going through those difficult times. You can see the pain and relief in the man’s expressions.
Posty went on to sing a lot of our new and older favorites. “Yours,” a song dedicated to his baby daughter, “White Iverson,” which got him on the map and of course, “Congratulations,” “RockStar,” and “I Had Some Help.” Honestly I can go on and on.
It was a fantastic show. A beautiful experience and It was a fucking honor to be able to shoot this show!
